Our three-holiday rental properties known collectively as Rustica Villas, are nestled in the lush mountains of Tuscany. Set out in a single spacious plot but with privacy for each property, they are perfect for individuals, couples or groups of friends of families that are looking for a quiet retreat with lots to do nearby. They can be rented together as a group or as individual properties. Built in recent years in the local, traditional style they provide the perfect balance of rustic charm and contemporary standards and facilities.

Rustica Villas is situated in the northwest of Italy in the region of Tuscany, just 7 km from the nearby town of Barga – noted by the Italian Touring Club for with an ‘orange flag’ for it’s beauty and quality. Rustica Villas is surrounded by medieval towns and cities and each evening between the months of July and September, it is possible to join ‘Sagra’ – the open-air communal dining which is such a tradition in Italien rural culture. Tuscany itself is well-known for its landscapes, history, and renaissance art but this area also has fabulous mountain views, hiking trails and forest cycle tracks. You have the best of Tuscany right on your doorstep whilst at the same time being just an hour and twenty minutes drive from the resort beaches of Forte di Marmi and Viareggio, and the winter ski slopes of Abatone.

Barga — one of the most beautiful villages in Italy
Hidden in the mountainous area of the Tuscan province of Lucca lies the hilltop medieval town of Barga, the nearest town to our holiday rental villas. Officially included in the list of The Most Beautiful Cities in Italy, visiting Barga is a must. The restored castle of Barga, alongside several old cathedrals and churches are sure to ignite anyone’s love of history. Try a taste of local cuisine, or perhaps stay for the Barga Jazz festival or one of the many other festivities that take place over the summer months. There’s fabulous hiking and cycle trails to be enjoyed around the lush valleys and mountains Whatever you enjoy, there is plenty to see and do within Barga!
Barga is home to a wide variety of wonderful local food and wines. Locally caught trout are a particular favourite.
There are numerous local markets including the weekly farmer’s market on Fridays in Barga.
Nearby there are several places to rent mountain bikes and electric bikes, perfect for riding around the countryside. Nearby ones include Ciocco bike circle and Val di Lima e-bike.
Barga is surrounded by beautiful countryside which is perfect for exploring on foot, by bike or horseback. There’s trout fishing and golf too.

Booking a stay at one of our rentals simply requires clicking on the booking section and entering your details to send the booking request.
We are very much family friendly and welcome children in all of our villas.
No pets allowed, sorry.
They come with broadband and internet access.
All rentals come with access to the swimming pool and jacuzzi which are shared between the group of three villas .

Flights from the UK
The nearest airport is Pisa (60km) and many low cost as well as international carriers operate this route. Florence (90km) is also a close transport hub.
Arrival
The drive from Pisa is approximately 1 hour (60 km). Car hire is available from the airport should you wish to drive yourself to the property. There are also frequent trains to Barga where a taxi can be taken to the property, which is about 4km away.
Accessed by a winding mountain road above the famous historical walled mountain town of Barga the Villa is within easy driving (or train if you prefer) distance of the classical Tuscan cities of Lucca (35Km). Pisa (65Km) and Florence (90Km).
